contemplation

I have gone over and over in my mind for months, maybe even years, about having a blog that featured anything but pictures of my family. I didn't want to post with wrong motives. I like to look at other's blogs and observe their creativity and would absolutely hate it if one of my dear friends didn't post every little thing 'cause I would miss way too much of her life.
So I finally decided to post some things that I have been up to and jump into the blogging world.

here goes::

I love to create things I need. I call myself a functional sewer. I am not a huge fan of patterns, I usually just make it and then use it.
I absolutely LOVE colorful things {paper, fabric, pens, ribbon, pictures, the list goes on}, maybe that's why I majored in Graphic Design and had a ton of fun!

My plan:: Share my makings, my thoughts and some everyday life.
{enjoy}

A Need for GOLD shoes

My girls were asked by some sweet friends, and past RAs, to be the flower girls in their wedding.
So we found the perfect dresses to go with the vintage wedding.

but when it came to finding the shoes we ran into quite a snag...
no off white or gold shoes to be found (at least in our price range)

 so the day before the wedding I got this idea to start crafting...

(here is the shoe half and half)

 I painted two pairs of shoes, that the girls already had, with gold craft paint
...and presto-change-o for
FREE $.99

{ready for a wedding}

I just had to add this in
the sign the girls held says

{here comes the bride}

the bride, Kendall, made it out of fabrics also used in various places around the wedding on burlap...
super cute touch
